Monday Musings
Spring break plans, my thoughts on Meghan's new show, home renovation inspiration + more!
Good Monday morning. Today was a tough one when it came to getting out of bed, huh? Brandon and I stayed up late watching The White Lotus and then, since I didn’t feel very tired because of the time change, I decided to stay up and watch the Love is Blind Reunion, too. Right when it was wrapping up, we heard Rosie’s little footsteps heading straight for our bed. Then sometime throughout the middle of the night while I had a foot to my back, here comes Watson. They don’t do this often at all anymore, so when they do, we let it happen because I feel like they must really need us. Needless to say, we were cozy and I feel like I was awake every hour through the night. Then of course the alarm went off while it was still dark outside. Sigh. It’s always an adjustment! But I have no complaints… having it stay lighter later is such a hopeful time of year.
Patrick is still sleeping (1 out of the 3 will receive an A+ for the time change), so I just grabbed my coffee and got to typing this newsletter. Wanted to share some musings for your Monday morning! Will you let me know in the comments what kind of posts you’d like to see on here? I’d like to devote more time to Substack.
If Meredith Blake would have made it to the altar, this could have been her bridal luncheon dress —
Any brides out there reading this? This dress stopped me in my tracks. The way it wraps around your arm is unique and yet so classic.
A high-end everyday tote under $550 —
I have the lighter version of this bag, but the darker one is honestly so much more striking!
There’s never enough blue & white —
This large bowl is a wonderful dupe to a much more expensive one at a third of the price. I have one similar that I have orchids in. I gave one to my mom for Christmas one year and she has rattan decorative balls in hers as a coffee table fixture.
The magical stain remover —
The amount of times this product has saved me this week is high! It feels pricey, but I swear it gets food-based and oil-based stains out way better than anything else. Just this past week, it has removed cream blush from a vintage rug, set-in orange gatorade stains from the same rug (which Folex couldn’t help at all), mud from playing outside, mysterious food stains on my children’s school uniforms, a little snickers bar stain on the white couch (thank you, Brandon), and more that I’m just not recalling, I’m sure.
Meghan’s new show —
I started it on my beloved kitchen TV (which is an excellent companion to doing the dishes or cooking dinner alone, amongst a thousand other things we use it for since it’s not just a TV). To be completely honest, I have very few opinions when it comes to the Royal Family, so I am enjoying watching! No denying it’s a beautiful show. My friend, Amy Beth, sent me the link to one of her many aprons… it’s $10 on Amazon!
Finally set up something fun —
The first thing I do every morning is browse Shopbop’s new arrivals. I don’t know why, but I find their website the easiest to peruse because it’s not overloaded with new things daily. I set up my Shopbop Hearts, where you can keep track daily of anything I am liking at Shopbop! I save everything here before I buy it.
I first encountered this brand on Nantucket —
Octavia Elizabeth is a high end, non-traditional fine jewelry line that I came across at The Vault, a beautiful jewelry store on Nantucket. I don’t own anything from this line but follow them on Instagram and am an admirer from afar.
Simple, everyday meals is what we all need —
I have this book on preorder and cannot wait!
We will be in the Bahamas for Easter this year —
I’m looking for some easy-to-pack activities and little treats to bring along. This clay charm + bracelet set on Amazon is adorable and definitely on my list! I’m a little sad to not be in Charleston for Easter because it’s my favorite holiday and I love being home for it. And of course the sentimental part of me feels a little bummed knowing we can’t have our Easter baskets there… and there’s only so many years we get to use them with our children! So I’m almost wondering if the Easter Bunny will visit us in the Bahamas or will he fill their baskets in Charleston so they will be waiting for us once we are back home? Or maybe a little bit of both!?
We hope to start our big house renovation in June —
So I’m pinning most every day. Follow along!
For travel kits - bauble bar has the most precious bead kits. Best kit I’ve ever seen! Key chain kit and a bracelet kit! I did key chain kit for valentines and now doing bracelet kit for Easter!
Love your newsletters and your style! Would love to see more home content. Your home blog posts were so helpful in starting my reno! I chose Simply White because I loved how you used it in your river home and how it worked with your old wood furniture.
